There are however, some things that you can manage on your Squidoo lens. You make the decision as to what keywords you are going to optimise your lens for. This way you know you are proactively doing something to attract the search engines to the lens. The best keyword density range is 2.8-3.3%.
If you make sure your keywords are bolded two or three times throughout each post, then Google will view it as significant. Making the words into italics is another way of placing emphasis on them. Your chosen keyword should also be placed in bold once at the beginning of your lens content and once at the end.
Placing the main keyword in the title and url is another way of making sure you stay in favour with the search engines. Using hyphens and not underscores when the keywords in the url have to be broken up is the best method. Ensure you have linked all your lenses together by placing them in the blog rolls of the relevant lenses; Google will find all the lenses easier this way.
You have to really try and get many backlinks to your lens for it to rise in the rankings. Comments on other users sites is a good way of getting backlinks. Try and use most, if not all, of the above pointers and you will see your lens rising in the rankings.
